News: Prof. Toplak’s Comparative Election Law Class Hosting OSCE Heads

November 18, 2022

On Monday, November 14, 2022, Professor Jurij Toplak’s Comparative Election Law class hosted Tana de Zulueta and Stefan Krause, the Head and Deputy Head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (“OSCE”). The OSCE’s Head and Deputy Head presented the OSCE’s preliminary findings on the November 8, 2022 midterm congressional elections and participated in a Q&A with Fordham Law students.

At the invitation of the U.S. State Department, the OSCE’s Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights brought international election observers to the United Staets for 2022 midterm elections. See below for the OSCE’s preliminary findings:

    A Discussion with New York State Senator Zellnor Myrie, Chair of the New York State Senate Committee on Elections. Senator Myrie authored the John R. Lewis New York Voting Rights Act, which was signed into law in June 2022 by Governor Hochul. Senator Myrie earned his B.A. in Communications and M.A. in Urban Studies from Fordham University. He later earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School. Read more on Senator Myrie’s bio here.
